Cosmetic Gum Grafting

Check this out. Recent patient came in with some recession, and an old cosmetic gum graft that was just way too small. Look at the before and after photos of the remarkable difference that has been made with a new graft. Cosmetic gum grafts are done in our office because once recession starts in a tooth; the body begins to lose its natural defense against both bacteria and trauma. The tooth begins to become more increasingly sensitive to hot and cold food and liquids. In more advanced cases, the gum recession can lead to a worsening decline and exposure of the root surface. Reconstruction of the gums using grafting techniques is a viable option when gum recession is substantial.

Tip Tuesday!

Are you a nail Biter? Your manicure may not be the only thing that is affected by your nail biting. Studies show that nail biting that is brought on by stress, or anxiety does not only affect your nails, but also your teeth. Biting your nails from stress, anxiety, boredom, has harsh effects on your teeth. The biting action can cause you to crack, or chip your teeth. Biting your nails is just that but it also includes clenching while trying to force your front… teeth through the hard surface of your nails. Patients might find that wearing a night guard can help deter nail biting, and help prevent further damage. If you think that you have some damage from biting your nails, give us a call to set up a consult today @ 240-651-5478 or check us out on www.Frederickimplant.com! Keep those finger nails away from your Pearly Whites!

We are so happy and excited to introduce a new addition to our office! Brooke’s experience and caring personality makes for a great Surgical Assistant and a great fit to our growing team! Brooke became interested in oral health, after her experience with Orthodontics and knew that this was something that she had to do in life. Brooke not only brings her Dental Assisting experience, but also many years of volunteer work and administrative experience. Brooke has been on medical mission trips to Guatemala, as well as volunteered at the Mission of Mercy Free Dental Clinic in Arkansas, and Planting Hope in Frederick, MD. Brooke enjoys doing as much volunteer work as her schedule allows, being outdoors with her family and pets. She is a self-pro-claimed “Grill Master” who enjoys cooking, exercising, and traveling the world! Brooke goal is to ensure that every patient who visits our office walks out with a smile, feels confident, comfortable, and well informed. Knowing that she has helped make a difference in each patient’s life by the work she has completed on them tells Brooke that she has chosen the right career path for herself and her family.

TIP Tuesday!!!

Did you know? The chances of gum disease can be significantly lowered when plaque is removed and prevented from building up. Oral-B Electric Too…thbrushes are designed to gently but effectively clean the surface of your teeth, which helps to remove plaque buildup without causing irritation. In fact, some Oral-B Electric Toothbrushes include special massage or gum-care cleaning modes. In addition, only Oral-B Electric Toothbrushes have a visual pressure sensor that alerts you when you brush too hard, to help promote healthy gums.
