Unlike our skin or bones, teeth cannot repair themselves once damaged, which is why it is important to look after your teeth and attend regular dental checkups.
‘Long in the tooth’ (meaning ‘old’): This saying was originally used to describe horses. As horses age their gums recede, which gives the impression that their teeth are growing. The longer the teeth look, the older the horse is.
Dr. Towe had the privilege of attending the Academy of Osseointegration Annual Meeting in Washington, DC last week. She enjoyed participating in a Hands-on Workshop for Same-day Guided Immediate Placement and Provisionalization Using an Improved Digital Workflow. Digital planning allows reliable accuracy during implant placement and replacement of missing teeth in one day!
Cleaning between your teeth is just as important as brushing the parts you see. When we brush, we’re able to easily reach the tops and sides of our teeth. But the surfaces between – which make up a significant part of our tooth enamel – need proper cleaning, too. This is why it’s best to clean between your teeth daily to remove food and bacteria and promote healthy gums.
Dr. Towe was happy to sponsor and attend the 10th Annual Clutch the Future Woman to Woman Mentoring event at Hood College over the past weekend with Dr. Amaris Little. This fundraiser provides essential funding to support Woman to Woman Mentoring Inc. with the mission to cultivate mentoring relationships that provide women with guidance, support, and community connections.
